Upcoming Release: Air Jordan 7 Retro "Orion Blue"

The latest Jordan retro release information has recently been published. The Air Jordan 7 Retro "Orion Blue's" are set to drop on March 26, 2011. These retro 7's will be released along with other AJ7's such as the Bordeaux's and the Cardinal's. Personally, I think these are the freshest of the three that are dropping next year...however everyone knows that the greatest 7's of all time are the AJ7 "Hare" (pictured below).

Shaq Reacts To His $35,000 Fine

A couple days ago, Shaq was hit with a $35,000 fine from the NBA. Read the full statement below:

Shaquille O’Neal has been fined $35,000 for public comments about the officiating, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.
The incident occurred following the Celtics’ 86-78 loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday night.

Rondo Can Do Whatever The Hell He Wants

Remember back before the start of the season Rajon Rondo told the media this:

"Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is saving his money in the event of an NBA lockout. NBA commissioner David Stern says he wants to cut player salaries by one-third.

Rondo says he's "saving a lot of money this year." He is scheduled to make $9 million this season."

This made me (and probably a lot of people) believe that Rondo would be very conservative with his new 5 year, 55 million dollar contract. But on twitter last night, he showed us that he was staying entertained with this expensive video game system while nursing his sprained ankle with the photo below. I like this, you know why? Rondo can do whatever ever the hell he wants. He says he's gonna save money, and a few months later BOOM, $5000+ dollar video game. Don't care. #1 point guard in the league.

Showdown at MSG on Wednesday Night

This Wednesday night the Celtics will be visiting Madison Square Garden to take on the Knicks. This is going to be a good game for many reasons. The Celtics are on a 10 game winning streak, and the Knicks are on a 8 game winning streak. Our records are very close in regards of the Atlantic division and it should play out to be a very interesting match-up as we all know the beef between KG and Amare.

Not to mention, Carmelo might get traded to the Knicks soon..(not cool)

This post is somewhat irrelevant, but I was happy to see this ugly mongoose-looking creature lose last night. Right now the Lakers record is 16-7, and our beloved Celtics record is 18-4 - not to mention we have about 5 hurt players and Jermaine O'neal has played like half a game all season. Things are looking good for Boston right now..not to mention the Sox getting 2 great players, and the Patriots just tearing shit up.

Oh. My. Goodness. Did he just do what I think he just did?? Breakin' ankles and posterizing someone? Yes, yes he did. Jeremy Pargo, younger brother of Jennero Pargo, plays pro ball in Israel. Man, he's not just playing, he's tearing it up. I think it's safe to say that this sequence of events is something that most basketball players want to say they did. Most never get to say they did either of these things. Even less get to do it in the same play. Jeremy Pargo did, though, and boy was it nice.

The Association: Episode 1

 

The Association is basically a documentary which follows one NBA team around for the whole season and airs 5 episodes summing up the key events throughout their season. This year's NBA team is none other than the Boston Celtics. Episode 1 is posted above in case anyone missed it last night. It gives you a behind the scenes look at what the Celtics go through to be one of the top teams in the NBA and some of the tribulations they have to endure as the season goes on. 

Here is the schedule for the remaining episodes:

Honestly, I am not a LeBron hater. The only time I hate him is when he faces the Celtics...but besides then, I can't say I don't like him. If you actually think about all the stuff he has gone through in his career with the media and all, I'm pretty sure 95% of the people who talk shit about him would crumble within the first year if they were in his position. Last night he was in a stadium of 20,562 people who hate him and he still went out there with a grin on his face, tossed powder in the air, and dropped 38 on the Cavs while getting booed the whole time. If that's not a true ballers mindset, then I don't what is.

I found this to be a very interesting article as I learned a few things that I never really knew about Russell. The article mentioned very intriguing facts and also included the interview he had with Kevin Garnett when he joined the team (posted after the jump). Reading this article and then watching the video after would give any real Celtics aficionado goosebumps. With that said, consider me on the bandwagon for giving Bill Russell a statue.

Check out the break down by the numbers of who wears what shoes in the NBA. Nike is completely running house. Pretty much everyone is rockin' the Hyperfuses, including myself, except I'm not in the NBA (yet). What I want to know is is who is the lone guy wearing the New Balances? Why, am I afraid it's Matt Bonner? Nope, luckily I was wrong, it's Charlie Bell..  Look at Peak, Li Ning and Anta holding it down in the middle of the pack.  Just watch, those brands are going to jump in the next couple of years.  However, no one will ever take over Nike/Jordan/Converse or Adidas/Reebok for the 1st and 2nd places on the list.  See if you can spot your favorite players wearing these sneakers next time you watch an NBA game.

Once again Miami, take some pointers from the Celtics, a team who can combine a plethora of superstars and still win games and have great chemistry. LeBron and Wade just dont mend together, and Bosh sucks. I would take our veteran all stars over those three selfish ball hogs any day.

My prediction: Spoelstra gets fired this week, they hire some other dud coach, and they still continue to lose.

New Lebron Logo

LeBron debuted his new logo in his "Person of the Year" interview with Matt Lauer.  It's an "L" and a "J" with the crown from his old logo.  Unlike his old logo, which incorporated his old number, 23, there's no sign of a 6 in this one.  That's a smart move by LeBron, so just in case he makes the decision to change his number because he wants to pay respect to the all-time great Bill Russell, he doesn't have to change everything about his brand with Nike. What a great decision by the great LeBron James. I'm surprised he didn't have a press conference prior to the interview for the logo.

The Wall Street Journal Analyzes the "Dougie"

Look what we having gracing the pages of the Wall Street Journal..  Very, very important news, I would say.  Do you think the kids who made this song ever in their wildest dreams thought their song would have them being written about in the Wall Street Journal?? Probably not. Honestly, though, I'm glad to be seeing stuff like this in the news.  We live in a age where almost everything you see on the news, read about online, or listen to on news radio is pretty depressing.  So if I had a copy of the Wall Street Journal, reading about how bad my stocks and the market are doing, or not really finding the articles about Facebook's new messaging features very interesting, this would definitely catch my eye.  And maybe, just maybe, it would even brighten up my day (like watching John Wall kill it with his dougie).

Is Tony Parker Mentally Disabled?

Eva Longoria has recently filed for divorce from elite NBA point guard Tony Parker. Rumors are that she found well over 100 text messages in his phone from Erin Barry, wife of former teammate Brent Barry. First of all....why in the world would you ever cheat on Eva Longoria? Granted Erin Barry (pictured after the jump) is not bad looking at all, she is still no Eva Longoria. Tony Parker should have been thankful that he landed someone as smoking as her to begin with, but too late now Tony. On the bright side, hopefully this disrupts the Spurs team chemistry because they have a very good record so far.
